My Excursions.. Croissants, youtubers and 1D

 Right ho - Hello guys!

So as mentioned previously I have been on a mini excursion to London for a few days
And boy what a few days it has been! You would not even believe!! So I shall go through with you my antics day by day..
ENJOY!

Thursday:
So we travelled down on Thursday (me and the fam) and who did I see? But of course my petite pally and fellow blog mate! ( how I love her ) and I love love love seeing her as we are just like twins but live very far away from one another and I get oh so excited when I get to see her. We had a lovely day catching up then popping out to lunch at Dim t which is an Asian restaurant and was very very nice! Then all afternoon we planned our blog and made videos (which got deleted) and yes it was a lovely day indeed! After she popped off home I went out for coffee with another friend and then to my grandparents for dinner!

Friday:
Friday was a VERY exciting day! Off I went in the morning to have breakfast in a cute little cafe with my friend ( the one I went to coffee with ) I had a pain au chocolat as croissants are my all time favourite food! We them got the tube to Oxford street which is just perfect and one of my favourite places ever ever ever! We had a little shop around ( A haul post is to follow ) before popping down to a milk shake bar on Great Portland Street where...
WE MET ONE DIRECTIONS SUPPORT ACT
She is called 'Camryn' and she was super cute and sweet and only 14!! (Very impressive to be touring with the boys!) And we entered her competition to win VIP tickets if we made her a fansign and what did I do?
I WON I WON I WON
So now in 39 days time I am on Camryns personal guest list with passes and VIP seats to see One Direction in London and I am so excited as I am a directioner and proud!! So I essentially ran home with excitement to get ready for the x factor tour  and it was brilliant - the best year yet. The acts all had incredible voices and I really enjoyed myself!

Saturday:
By this time in the week I was very tired! But I still got up early(ish) to meet ANOTHER friend ( ooh look at me with all my friends in London ) for breakfast! And again I had croissant because as I said they are my favourite!!! Then I went to Liverpool street to pick up my best friend from where I live as she was coming down for the weekend. Now as I stated I am a full on directioner and despite winning tickets.. I had allready bought tickets like a year ago. So we got all dressed up and I was dancing on the tube all the way to the O2! We had back row tickets which I must admit I was dissapointed by but then! My auntie who was with me, my mum and my friend got a phone call from a friend to say she had upgraded us to VIP seats and it was the best news ever. So as we waited to collect our tickets I turned around and I saw 2 of my favourite people ever - Zoe of Zoella and Louise of Sprinkle of Glitter. My heart stopped and I cried because there are no words to describe my love for them. Sadly they were whisked away before I could get a picture. I did however get a picture of Marcus of MarcusButlerTv and saw Alfie of Pointlessblog! We were then shown to our seats and they were AMAZING right by the stage the best view imaginable and I turned in my seat to see Louise and Marcus were a few rows behind so we waved at one another and I cried AGAIN. Camryn performed first and I was very proud to say I had hugged her and was on her guest list for another show! The 5 seconds of Summer performed who are an Australian band who are definitely worth checking out

As they were really good and good looking ( bagsy the drummer) after this the show kicked off and I can honestly say it was one of my favourite evenings ever I danced and sang all night and just had the best time.
I cannot wait to go again!!!
These aren't my pictures as I haven't got the camera in my room right now but you will get the idea!

Feb Favourites!

Hello one and all!

My dear blogmate is still on her trip in London, and has been making me incredibly jealous, what with going shopping yesterday and the One Direction concert tonight - I have therefore made her promise she will do a post on it all when she is back home with some proper internet!
I thought I would do a February Favourites post in the meantime to keep you entertained. I'm hoping to do one each month, and hopefully la blogmate will too, so you can compare and enjoy our favourites (don't get too excited). I have made a few categories (yes I have a lot of spare time), to keep it consistent and also easier for me to choose what I'll write about...

SONG

I thought it would be a nice idea to start with this so you can listen to it as you read on. This month I have been loving Valentino by Diane Birch. It just sounds so happy and summery which is a nice thing when its artic temperatures outside:

PRODUCT
My favourite product which I have been using constantly is the Jack Wills English Velvet Body Butter.

I have tried a few body butters over the years but never found a really good one that I could call a proper favourite. But this stuff is amazing... firstly it smells so nice, it's soapy but a little floral (quite a hard one to describe) and it has the perfect thickness to it. The major benefit is that it's in a large tub so you can get so much use out of it. I've been using it a lot since Christmas time and it looks like I haven't made a dent in it!

ITEM OF CLOTHING
I was in Topshop a few weeks ago when I spied these shoes...
I do not regret spending £70 on them. They are amazing... you can wear them with anything and because I am so short I can get away with wearing them in the day and not look too dressed up, whilst gaining some extra height! They are so comfortable and unlike some of my other boots they are easy to get on and off - you can't see in the photo but they do have a zip on the side so there's no need to bother with the laces.

MOVIE
Recently I thought to myself "Omg I have never seen a Marilyn Monroe movie! I will buy some!" so I had a bit of an Amazon splurge and bought about 7... I have now fallen in love with these old movies and my favourite so far is The Prince and The Showgirl. If you have seen My Week With Marilyn , The Prince and The Showgirl is the film Marilyn and Laurence Olivier are making in that movie (MWWM is such an amazing film, one of my all time favourites and what introduced me to the wonderful world of Marilyn Monroe... and Eddie Redmayne -*faints dramatically*).
I loved it so so much because it's funny, its girly, and it has some of the biggest stars of the time in it.. and it is set in London just to make it more exciting! Here's the old trailer:

If you have seen it or plan on watching it - my favourite scene is where she does a little dance infront of the sofa (it is also in My Week With Marilyn though thats obviously Michelle Williams version).

RANDOM
And in the random catagory this month, the winner is a Topshop nail polish. You will soon find out that I am a nail polish addict however I was lacking in pink shades and had been on the hunt for a while. I then came across "Daydream" when I was on a mini Topshop spree:

As with all Topshop make up products I love love love the packaging and I have to say it is quite good quality (I didn't have much experience with them before I purchased this) and the colour comes out amazingly after just one coat.
I also tried it out as half moons against a nude (Topshop - Nice n' Neutral) and it came out like this which I thought was cool (my hand looks like it belongs to a ghost because of the flash, sorry!):

And there we go.
Hope you had a good little dance to Valentino, feel inspired to watch a Marilyn Monroe movie and try out some body butter amongst other things!
Expect a post from the blog mate sometime soon, as explained above ^^^

Until next time,

Minka x

Friday I'm in Love

Aloha!

It's nice to start the day with a little positivity and fun, so every Friday morning I have a little ritual whereby I listen to "Friday I'm in Love" by the Cure. Here is the youtube link if you're unfamiliar with it:

I thought this would be a nice little post for you all as I have spent half of this morning thinking it was Monday... it does help in life if you know what day it is! Plus I just generally like the song as it's happy and ideal to dance around your room to...

With love,

Minka x

We all need a spot of inspiration

Hey travellers!

So apologies! But due to being on the go this week I am working from my phone so what with dodgy wifi connections and temperamental iPhone keys my post is not as snazzy as the previous. However it is important all the same..

I feel like in the colder months when the excitement of the holidays have passed it is easy to get down and give up quickly and currently I think we all need a spot of inspiration!

“Nothing could be worse than the fear that one had given up too soon, and left one unexpended effort that might have saved the world.”
~Jane Addams~
From this I think we need to remember things will get better we just have to let them. If we loose faith in the future we miss out on the future we want. The time we lost by giving up could be the time you achieve your final goal. This theory can be applied to all areas of life - whether it be career prospects, the grade you want in an exam or happiness itself.
It can be achieved just don't take your eye off the ball! Stay committed, stay focused and never give up.

Lots of love

We love a nice perfume

Hello Travellers!

Thought I would get the blog moving by doing a proper post about my personal favourite scents (as in perfume and body spray etc).

So here goes...!

I have two main perfumes which I alternate between depending on where I am and what I feel like wearing. The first one is Vera Wang's "Glam Princess":

The bottle is not my favourite, I'll admit it does a look a bit tacky however I love the little crown cap.
It's probably got the strongest scent out of the perfumes I own - it's quite sweet, fruity and musky at the same time. It does fade quite quickly which is nice in a way because then it's a little more subtle, though probably not the most useful trait for a perfume to have.

The second one I wear is Marc Jacob's "Daisy":

This is such a popular perfume - If you don't own it I bet someone you know does! It is quite expensive (like most perfumes) but having said that it is so worth it as the scent stays for ages and the bottle is beautiful, it looks so pretty on a dressing table. It's a more floral one with a hit of musk and the strength is perfect. I am yet to meet someone who has said they don't like the smell of this!

When on-the-go perfume bottles are not the most handbag friendly items. BUT I have found a product which solves this problem! The company "Crazylibellule and the poppies" have invented perfumes on a stick and after doing some googling it appears they have lots of scents. I own "Les Divines Alcoves Amoureuse In Love":

It is so tiny (and therefore cute) and the packaging is so beautiful.. and according to my research you can buy it on amazon, but I bought mine in a little boutique shop quite a long time ago.
It looks a bit like a large lipbalm, and you apply it the same way (though to your wrists... not your lips!) and it smells so so nice, floral, but not over the top, it's quite rosy.
I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for something portable.

The last scent I use is a body mist. It's from PINK in a range called "PINK with a splash" and I believe there are quite a few avaliable. This is the one I own:

It's really girly yet subtle smell, quite nice to put on if you've just got out of the shower I find. It's sort of fruity floral and I love it however I prefer actual perfume to body mists, so I don't get that much use out of it.

So there you have it, hope you've enjoyed the first proper post (if you've managed to reach the end) and keep your eyes out for more!

Love,

Minka

Hello World

Hello Travellers,

This is a brand new blog, we've never done this before so please help us by being nice!

The Pink Suitcase is a joint account between two girls which we decided to make spur of the moment over lunch. We're going to be posting about stuff we like (anything from books to make up to restaurants!) and things we get up to which we think you may enjoy reading.

Hopefully we will be able to post video's on here in the near future - we did try but the laptop was being temperamental and so the video we had made earlier has managed to delete itself...

So to sum up it's a little blog containing a little bit of everything!

Enjoy and please do share and comment once it gets going!

Keep you posted,
Love,

The Girls
