Make-up snooping.....

On Wednesday night, I was supposed to be staying in our flat in London... however I had no windows in my bedroom due to them being in the process of getting replaced.

Therefore I popped over next door to stay with one of my bestest friends (I cannot tell you how perfect it is to live next door to your best friend).

The next morning she left rather early so I did a very very cheeky little snoop across her dressing table and documented a few of the things I was tempted to steal.....

I am slightly obsessed with her Urban Decay NAKED 2 palette. I am in love with it. Just look at the pretty colours I could play with it all day!!!

It is definitely the product I am most jealous of... and she knows it. I will admit I had a little go with one of the colours, 'Chopper' - it's a perfect shimmery gold AND I WANT IT!!!!

She has a very beautiful nail polish collection, so I just chose my two favourites to show you. OPI 'French Quarter For Your Nails' and Topshop 'Stolen Sapphires".

The OPI is a gorgeous light stone grey. I thought it was a slightly unusual colour but I can imagine that it looks really nice on - I am a big fan of grey shades!!

I only own two Topshop nail polish's but I adore them and so when I saw this deep blue shade I felt heavenly. I know that these polish's work well and don't chip too quickly and it is such a pretty colour, omg I might just have to go out and buy it.

The last thing I picked out (she does have a lot of lovely stuff could I just add), was this foundation brush from Stila.

I found a little collection of these: for liner, eyeshadow, power and lips too, I think. I love the colour of the handles and the brush tip as well. I don't actually own a foundation brush but I am very very tempted now that I have seen this.

I know that my dear best friend reads this blog - she will either love me or kill me now... but nonetheless I enjoyed my snooping immensely.

On a different note I have made an account on "We Heart It" and am love love loving it!
I think I may be a bit late getting this but for those who don't know it is basically like tumblr. If you would like to add me as a friend, my username is: minkas_world  (Soph also has it: soph_29 and her tumblr is naturu-l.tumblr.com)

So if you would like to enjoy looking at photos of cute animals, marilyn monroe, make-up, shoes, fit boys and other pretty things, do add me!

Have a wonderful day,

Colour wheel: in the NUDE

Good morning all!

I am hoping today is a good day for everyone!
So today's colour is nude... I have recently fallen in love with this.

The little scrunched up thing at the front of this picture is a pair of nude tights. Now I suppose this is slightly cheating because most people probably own them but I think they are a necessity as it means I can still wear a pretty dress when it's a bit cold, and they also make my legs look smooth.

So my first proper item is a pair of heels:

These are from Carvela but don't freak out I got them in a sale! They are really comfy, rather Kate Middleton style (she is my idol I love her and we share the same birthday so hoorah). They are not particularly high at all which is probably good for me as it means I am able to walk normally.

Yesterday I wrote about my very precious set of 4 OPI minis, and this is another one of them in the shade "don't pretzel my buttons". Its a really light nude and looks so beautiful.
The belt is from Marks and Spencer and I think it was about £12.50. I've not had a chance to wear it yet because it is brand new but I really like the front of it because it's slightly unusual.

I got this clock from Laura Ashley and I think it's so cute! A bit vintage-y and looks lovely on a bedside table.

And thats all!

Colour Wheel: PURPLE

Where I am it is a pretty miserable foggy day, so I thought I would do my colour wheel post on a bright colour...Purple!

I used to be a huge fan of purple so I had no trouble finding things for you today!

I got this scarf for my birthday:
I'm not sure what material it is made from but it is unbelievably soft. It looks really nice with a plain grey jumper as it adds a splash of colour to an otherwise rather boring outfit.

For Christmas I was given a set of 4 mini OPI nail polishes called "Ger-minis"(a purple, nude, dark green and blue). They are probably my most prized nail polishes because they're so cute... I will cry when they run out.

I promise the earrings are a really dark purple and not black! I bought them at a market in France last summer... sadly I cannot remember what stone they are made of. They actually glitter in some lights which makes me very excited.

Because it's been winter and it's been hideously cold I bought quite a few of these thermal long sleeved tops from Superdry:

They are thin, but fit tightly and keep me warm which is the main thing. Fab for wearing under jumpers.

My last item is a pair of shoes - my Vans:

As you can see these are quite well worn! They are so comfy, I wore them a lot last summer as again they bring some colour to a shorts and white top combo. They will last you a long time so are worth buying if you're looking for something which is an alternative to Converse etc - I actually think these are much more comfortable than Converse anyway.

In other news, I would advise you to NOT try melting chocolate in a microwave because I have learnt this morning that it is possible to actually burn it. I could hear popping, fizzing and squeaking noises as the kitchen started to reek of chocolate mixed with plastic. Oh dear...

So please have a more sensible day than I am having!
